Rob Roy

Rob Roy was baptised 7th of March 1671. He is a Scottish outlaw, a folk hero and is sometimes called, "the Scottish Robin Hood". His parents were Donald MacGregor and Margaret Campbell MacGregor. When Rob was 18 he and his father joined the Jacobite rising led by Viscount Dundee, to support the Stuart King James II. Rob was deemed an outlaw when he borrowed a large sum of money to increase his cattle herd. He entrusted the money to his chief herder who disappeared and as a result, Rob lost the money and his cattle and he defaulted on his loan. Rob died on the 28th of December 1734.
