Three-legged skillet

Part of E A Hornel's antiquarian collection, and lent to the Stewartry Museum in 1955.  The discovery site was traditionally the site of the Lord of Galloway's stronghold, and it remained in occupation until the 16th century.  The pot is a typical mass-produced form and found all over Britain.   A three-legged copper alloy handled skillet or cooking pot.  Shows evidence of repair.
