Pottery flask, Inch

Braid Fell, Inch
This unusual pot with a flat base, onion-shaped body and short neck was found on the open moorland above Craigcaffie.  It is crude and hand-made and dates from sometime between 1500 and 1750.  It may have been a posset pot. A posset was a hot drink of milk curdled with wine or spiced ale.
