Strap-end
Simple hook-and-eye type belt fittings are common finds from medieval urban excavations. Four examples were recovered during the Whithorn excavation.
A strap-end made from two sub-rectangular copper alloy plates. One plate has a hooked terminal. The plates, which are held together with two copper alloy rivets, sandwich a layer of leather (part of the original strap).
