Silver gilt brooch

This brooch was allocated to the Stewartry Museum by the Treasure Trove Advisory Panel.  It was found using a metal detector by the Rev David Bartholomew, minister of Dalry parish, Kirkcudbrightshire.   Silver gilt brooch fragment.  The centre has the letter 'A' incised and gilded, the right arm has an incomplete 'X' incised, the left arm is missing.
