Seal matrix

This late medieval seal would have been used for marking documents and bagged goods.  The central perforation was to attach the seal to a chain or belt.  The now illegible inscription included the name of the owner, probably a local landowner or merchant.   A double-ended seal matrix with a central perforation.  The back has an illegible inscription around a diagonal cross motif.  The same motif is repeated on the top but without the inscription.
