Decorated bronze tweezers

These tweezers were found in the Northumbrian levels at Whithorn.  They would have been used for plucking eyebrows and other body hair and may even have been used for plucking beards.  Three other pairs of tweezers were discovered during the excavations.   A pair of tweezers.  The handle is decorated with a herringbone design and there is a zigzag pattern on the blades.  There is a loop at the top which was used to attach the tweezers to a belt.
