Portrait of a man, unidentified drawing (1)

This signed portrait is of an unknown male. It is possible that he is an actor of the time as Jeffs undertook poster work for the Lyceum cinema in Dumfries in the 1930s. This charcoal drawing was among items discovered during renovation of Jeffs home studio, the Yellow Door, High Street, Kirkcudbright in the 1990s. In 1989, when the property was sold, his family presented a large archive to Dumfries Museum.
