Bevor Armour

A Bevor is a metal piece of plate armour that is designed to protect the neck of the wearer, similar to a Gorget. To protect the wearer fully this piece of armour would have been wore in conjunction with a with a Sallet style helmet, and later with a burgonet, in a form known as a falling buffe.   The Bevor pictured is a fairly common example with a simplistic design, only a slight uniformed indention placed around the lower front chest section of the plate. The Bevor has a polished finish.
