Silver penny of Edward I

A silver penny of Edward I (reigned 1272-1307).  It was minted at London in 1305-06.  The coin was found by a metal detector-user near Glenluce.   Most of the coins from this period found in Galloway are English pennies.  This illustrates the degree of contact between south-west Scotland and England at the time.
