Polished flint knife, Luce Sands

Luce Sands
A polished rectangular flint knife.  Both faces have been ground to a uniformly flat surface with a fine overall polish.  The edges have been ground and rounded although one edge has been roughly reworked.   Polished knives like this are high quality tools and only one other example has been found in Dumfries and Galloway (Calgow, Minnigaff).  These knives were made at specialist workshops in Yorkshire and traded across northern England and southern Scotland.
