Axe flakes, Luce Sands

Luce Sands
Four large flakes from polished stone axes.  Flakes like these are quite common on Luce Sands.  They may be the waste left behind from the reworking and sharpening of axes.  Alternatively they may result from the ritual destruction of axes.   All these flakes are from axes made of volcanic tuff from the English Lake District.
