Roman Rope moulding
Rope moulding from an inscription panel, Birrens, Middlebie.
Description Two fragments of worked sandstone. Corner edging from a
larger panel. Smaller fragment has concentric rings then a row of
rope style carved moulding which continues on the larger fragment.
Reverse has parallel tooling Natural banding through rock, rock is
red on front and more grey on reverse. [see DUMFM:1966.107 for
duplicate record]
