Silver and gold rings, Whithorn
The gold ring was found in waterlogged accumulations on the site
at Whithorn, at the bottom of the hill, dating between 845AD and
1050AD, and was probably a casual (but no doubt significant to the
owner) loss.
The small silver ring was found in an area disturbed by medieval
graves, but seems to belong with a group of gold and silver objects
and fragments from a workshop dating between the late 12th and
early 13th centuries.
