Toddy Ladle (2)

This particular toddy ladle is quite decorative. It has a silver trim on the lip of the bowl and a twisted whalebone handle with a silver base.   Toddy is a mixture of whisky, hot water, honey or sugar, spices such as cinnamon and cloves, and lemond juice. People usually drank toddy when they were relazing in the evening, or after they had been out in bad weather. The following ladles would have been used to serve this spirit based drink
