Stoneware hot water bottle 'The Mecca'

'The Mecca' hot water bottle was first patented by Londoner Hiram Codd in 1870. These hot water bottles worked by having a marble which is kept pressed against a rubber ring in the neck of the bottle by the pressure of the water when it's on its side.
