Lead Work
These lead works are from the Blue Bell Inn, which was situated
in the area where the Loreburn Centre is today on Dumfries High
Street. On his return to England in 1745, Prince Charles Edward
Stewart stayed at the Blue Bell Inn, making his headquarters nearby
in Richard Lowthian's house. Each lead work piece depicts a face, a
women, an animal or a cherub.
