Pewter Measure
A medium sized measure with a stamp on the rim bearing the place
name Shrewbury and a shield.
Pewter was a cheaper alternative to oher metals but was still
used by wealthy households. Poorer people would have used even
cheaper alternatives such as horn or wood. Pewter cups, jugs and
tankards would have been found in a variety of homes.
