Electric socket
When Queen Victoria died in January 1901, electric lighting was
still in its infancy, even though Thomas Edison had perfected the
first incandescent electric light bulb more than 20 years
previously. It was not until after the First World War that
electric lighting finally emerged as the predominant source of
light in the home.
This electric socket is on a wooden mount and the external
switch has a three pin socket, while the dial beside it has one
double pin socket.
