Victorian Mourning Jewellery

These three necklaces are examples of mourning jewellery. Queen Victoria's lengthy mourning for Prince Albert coincided with the Crimean War and Indian Mutiny. This caused mourning jewellery to be more widely worn than before and brought about a fashion for Jet.
