Small sword, likely German
After the popularity of rapiers as dress swords waned among
civilian gentlemen, the shorter small sword fell into favour as it
was more portable with the possibility for the same level of
intricacy of design. This small sword is notable for the chiselled
details across its hilt and etchings on its blade. The hilt has
scroll detailing with chiselled pieces of stylised armour in low
relief. The blade showcases several decorative etchings, with
weapons among a cloud and sunburst.
