Processional halberd

Halberds are two-handed polearm weapons that came into prominent use between the 14th and 16th centuries. They consist of an axe blade topped with a long spike and pointed beak at the rear of the blade. In battle, they were a popular choice due to their versatility and the lack of training needed to wield the weapon effectively. In more recent centuries, with the decrease of polearms in battle, halberds are sometimes used for ceremonial purposes to convey authority and as a symbo of the law.
