Central European Axe

This is a possible ceremonial axe which would have been used for parades and other special occasions. Rather than being used as a practical tool or weapon, an ornate parade axe would have been used to signify power and authority as part of a soldier's dress uniform.   Made up of carved wooden haft with a metal decorated covering wrapping towards to the shoulder and neck of the axe. The bit and heel of the axe are particularly exaggerated dragged and curved round back towards the haft.
