Naval boarding pike

Boarding pikes were defensive weapons used prior to the advent of rapid fire pistols against attacking boarders as they were attempting to come on board by climbing up the side of the ship's hull or by swinging into the netting. The main difference between a naval boarding spear and military polearms is that they're generally shorter in length
