Indian axe, possibly a tabarzin

This 19th century axe is of Indian origin, and is composed entirely of metal. The axe head features a curved blade and is surmounted by a pointed spike. The axe is possibly a tabarzin, an Indo-Persian saddle axe which was carried under the saddle of a horseman while in battle, and easy to access to close-combat situations.
