Stained glass window in the chapel of the Keep, Dean Castle
The chapel of Dean Castle is dedicated to St. Andrew, the Patron saint of Scotland, he is usually depicted, as in this case, holding a cross in the shape of a saltire. This is where the Scottish National flag takes it's form from. Legend says that the clouds formed this shape in the sky before the Battle of Bannockburn, which gives the flag it's colours; a white cross on an azure background.
The window is late medieval in style and was incorporated into the castle during 20th century restoration work.
