Sorne Castle

The oldest part of Sorn Castle probably dates from the 14th century but the building was extensively rebuilt around 1490. The castle was the ancient seat of the Keith family. It later passed to the Hamiltons of Cadzow and then the Setons of Winton. The 2nd Earl of Winton sold the estate in 1680 to the Earl of Loudoun.   This representation was drawn by the artist S. Hooper and W. Sparrow was the engraver.
