Dean Castle (1)

This picture has been colour tinted or hand painted by the photographer as it pre-dates colour photography.  This view of Dean Castle has been taken from the Borland Water.  The little hill topped by trees on the right-hand side is supposed to be the site of the original Kilmarnock Castle probably built by the Lockhart or Soulis family in the 12th century and predating the Keep built by the Boyds by about a century or so.
