Bone pierced pin, Whithorn
A highly polished bone needle with a rounded head.
A large needle such as this could be used for activities such as
net-making. The high degree of polish is also a feature noted on
weaving pins, which are used to pick threads out during patterned
weaving, and for beating wefts into place.
