Tam O'Shanter

One of the original manuscripts of Tam O' Shanter, written in Burns' own hand.  Tam O'Shanter was composed by Robert Burns, in 1790, for his friend Francis Grose to be included in his publication 'Antiquities of Scotland (vol.2)' to accompany an engraving of Alloway Kirk.   Click here to find out more about the poem Tam o'Shanter in the Explore a Poem interactive.   Part of the James McKie Collection.
