A Highland Welcome

A holograph manuscript poem "A Highland Welcome" by Robert Burns.  This poem was written by Burns during one of his many travels throughout Scotland.  He was accompanied by his schoolmaster friend, William Nichol.  They travelled some 600 miles by horse drawn carriage, on a journey lasting 22 days.  It consists of four lines of verse with a statement of authentication by George Thomson, his friend and editor, who was Clerk to the Board of Trustees for Encouragement of Art and Manufacture in Scotland in Edinburgh.
