Second Edition of Poems by Robert Burns
Despite the success of the first edition of Burns' poems, it's printer John Wilson was cautious about printing a second edition. He requested that Burns provide the capital for the paper and printing himself. Unable to do this Burns began to look further afield for a willing publisher. Confident from the success of his first edition he travelled to Edinburgh where his work was already known. Here he made the acquaintance of William Creech who published the first Edinburgh Edition of his work.
