John Paul Jones's Watch

Silver watch in a tin case inscribed `J.P.J.` on the back, a gift to John Paul Jones from C.R. Arbigland in 1765.   This silver watch is reputed to have been given to John Paul Jones in 1765. John Paul Jones is credited with being the founder of the United States Navy. He led a small force which terrorized the coast of Scotland during the American War of Independence and his activities brought renewed demands for a Scottish militia.
