Mandolone

A tenor mandolone.  This instrument's pear-shaped body is of wood while it's neck and finger board are made from ivory and ebony.  It has a total of 16 strings arranged in pairs. A strip of ebony on the soundboard beneath the strings is to prevent damage by the performer's plectrum.
