Tenor cornett
Single-curved tenor cornett with leatherbound wooden body that
was been tooled with geometric decoration. The instrument, also
sometimes referred to as a lizard, has a single brass key with
square cover.
The tenor cornett flourished in use during the 17th and 18th
centuries and was used almost exclusively as an ensemble
instrument, with no solo music surviving to present day.
