Motorcyclist’s goggles
An American, Sylvester Howard Roper, invented a coal powered steam-engine motorcycle in 1867. The rider sat over a large front wheel similar to the penny farthing bicycle. In 1885 a German, Gottlieb Daimler, invented the first petrol driven motorcycle - an engine in the centre of a wooden bicycle. As well as a wheel at the front and back, it had a wheel on either side for extra stability.
