Wanlockhead - Church of Scotland, 1859 Minister: James Laidlaw (1848 - 1860) Sited within the ancient parish of Sanquhar, a chapel was erected at Wanlockhead for the miners. Wanlockhead was established as an ecclesiastical parish but not a civil one in 1861. Whitelaw 264
