Kirkconnel - Church of Scotland, 1734 Minister: Mr Peter Rae Peter Rae was born 1671 and married Agnes, daughter of John Corsane of Meiklenox, a ballie of Dumfries. He was Secretary to the Hammermen trades guild and active in the Dumfries Kirk Session. Rae had a private printing press in Kirkbride as early as 1712. Whitelaw 167
