Communion plate, Loreburn Church, Dumfries, 1734

This large communion plate or charger was made by Richard Going, a pewterer of Bristol in 1734.  The maker's mark is a crown and rose motif and appears alongside a lamb with banner.  On the back of the plate are the initials "WS" and "IW" in a Scottish script.  Are these the original owners of the plate or perhaps the donors of the plate to the church?
