New Technical College, Kilmarnock

The New Technical College was opened in 1966 and situated on Holehouse Road in the town. It later dropped the 'technical' to become Kilmarnock College. The building became disused in 2016 after the Kilmarnock campus of Ayrshire College (a merger between Ayr College, Kilmarnock College, and the Kilwinning and Largs branches of James Watt College) opened in August of the same year. Kilmarnock's branch of Ayrshire College was opened by the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and stands in the former grounds of the town's Johnnie Walker Whisky factory on Hill St. The building was demolished in 2019.
