Brass Flare Gun
COGSWELL & HARRISON Ltd 1918 No1 Mk III. During trench warfare coloured flares were an essential means of sending messages visible to the whole line as telephone lines often proved useless. They could also fire white flares to illuminate areas of the battlefield.
