Jacobite Tartan

Motto of the Royal Stuart Dynasty of Scotland from James VI: Nemo me Impune (No one attacks me with impunity) Plant Badge: White Rose   The Jacobites were a group of primarily Scottish people involved in a series of rebellions during the late 17th and 18th Centuries. They believed that James VII of Scotland and his Stuart descendants should be restored to the throne of Scotland. These rebellions culminated on 16 April in 1746 at the Battle of Culloden, with the Jacobites defeat by the British Army.    The Jacobite tartan is a symbol of Scottish national identity that has been around since at least 1707, and worn during the Jacobite Rebellion of 1715. Scottish people who have no clan connections often wear the Jacobite tartan. This tartan is primarily yellow, green and white.
