Royal Marine Green Beret

This hat, complete with badge, is worn as part of the Marine’s everyday uniform.  It belongs to Mark Boyd, who enlisted in May 2006 for 3 years with 45 Commando Royal Marines, Condor Base, Arbroath. The Green Beret was originally introduced in the Second World War, and is worn only by those who have passed the gruelling 'All Arms Commando Course' - acknowledged as one of the toughest physical exams in the world.
