The sporting baseball cap has evolved to be worn as part of a worker’s uniform in recent years, especially in catering companies.  This one was issued to telephone call workers in Dumfries when Directory Enquiries was de-nationalised, and 118866 became the Scottish Directory Enquiry Service.
