Italian swept hilt rapier 3

The rapier sword was both a stylish accessory and weapon of self-defence used by civilian and military gentlemen through out the 16th and 17th century. This rapier has a swept hilt design to protect an unarmoured users hand. This early 17th century Italian swept hilt rapier features a gilt hilt an the ricasso of blade stamped with a crowned 'R'.
