Sallet or Salade Helmet
The Sallet or Salade was a combat helmet that was eventually
replaced with the Bascinet during the mid 15th Century.
To increase protection to the face and neck, the sides of the
helmet were drawn forward at the bottom to cover the cheeks and
ears, and the rear of the helmet was curved out to protect the
neck.
