Calendar jug

Description:

This was a Christmas gift from John Luke Scott and Sons, Draper, of 6 Church Place, Dumfries, to their customers and suppliers.

 

It is a tall white china jug with gilt detail, a gilt edged rim and a design of holly and mistletoe on the side, with a square calendar for the year 1907 below. There is also the inscription, 'With Compliments from John Luke Scott Draper Dumfries'.


Dumfries and Galloway Standard reported on the 15th December 1906 that they had received a gift of a plate and jug.
