Terrets, Middlebie

A set of cast bronze Iron Age terrets from the Middlebie hoard.   The Middlebie hoard of late Iron Age chariot fittings was found in a bog in the late 18th century, and subsequently donated to the National Museums of Scotland, where it is now on display. Similar  terrets, have been found across the region, including a cluster from around Castle Douglas.
