Hammerstone, Lockerbie
A hammerstone was found in association with a cremation
urn at Lockerbie Academy. It is of typical expedient form and was
quite possibly used once and discarded.
It is impossible to determine whether the stone was deliberately
placed in the cremation urn, or accidentally dropped during the
infilling of the pit.
