Figurine of Cupid, Carzield

Carzield Roman fort
This bronze figurine were found in the remains of the armourer's furnace at Carzield Fort. It had most likely been intended for melting down as scrap metal. The hands and feet are missing, otherwise the figurine is fairly complete.   Depicting Cupid, the god of desire, affection and erotic love, it is most likely that the figurine was created in Britain as it exhibits examples of British workmanship.
